Join The Pack
When to Join
We welcome new scouts throughout the year. The program aligns closely with the school schedule.
Typically the first meeting of the year occurs towards the end of August into the first part of September.
Check out the Pack Calendar.
If your Scout joins in late fall or spring, there will be a few activities that will need to be completed at home. However, it doesn't take away any Scouting fun; your Scout's Den leaders will help!
How to Join
There are two ways to join the pack:
Complete the online youth application.
Download and complete the paper Youth Application and turn it in to the Cubmaster at the next in person meeting.
What To Expect
Complete the online application or turn in the paper application.
Within a few days, you will hear from the Membership volunteer by email welcoming your scout to the Pack.
You will be introduced to the current Den Leaders of your scout's grade level group.
Learn more about how the pack is structured by viewing a quick video called "Welcome to Cub Scouting!"
You and your Scout attend the next den or pack meeting to start the Scouting journey.

Scouts Can Earn Their Way
Scouts can sell popcorn to pay for the entire year of the Scouting program. That means you pay nothing for the programing; uniform and optional items from the scout store are not including.
However we have a pack closet that can reduce your cost of purchasing uniform items.
Uniform & Handbook
Pack 406 uniforms are from the waist up.
Uniform shirt
Uniform cap
Neckerchief
Rank neckerchief slide
Uniform belt
Rank Handbook (discuss and decide as a Den)
No need for scout pants, short, skirt, or socks. We do strongly encourage the whatever pants/shorts/skirt they chose to wear that they do have belt loops as they will want to wear their uniform belts and adventure loops they earn with Pride!!!
Check out this helpful one page summary of pack expectation and cost of the uniform and handbook.
Pack Closet
The closet accepts donated uniform pieces from pack members to provide needed items to others at no cost.
Before you buy check the Pack Closet.
The closet is set up at most of the pack meetings. Feel free to contact the Pack Closet Coordinator directly by email or on discord.
Not Sure About Joining?
